SURFACE PREPARATION

Proper preparation of the substrate is essential for good bond. Substrate must be both clean and sound. Remove laitance, oils, and greases by solvent wiping. When bonding steel based plates sandblast the bottom of base plate and wipe clean with an approved metal-cleaning solvent, where necessary.

MIXING

For ease of handling, condition Product #1700 Electrical Encapsulating & Casting Epoxy to a minimum temperature of 70°F before mixing. Mix Ratio 100 parts A Component to 125 parts B component by weight (1 to 1 by volume). Mix components together well for 2 to 3 minutes in a non absorbent container large enough to allow decent mixing. Scrape sides and bottom to ensure through mixing. Avoid entrapping air , let set for 10 minutes to release air then pour in place. Automatic dispensing equipment may be utilized.

APPLICATION

Product #1700 Electrical Encapsulating & Casting Epoxy may be cast in single or multiple lifts, up to 4 inches thick. If multiple pours are done material must be placed within 72 hours.

Clean equipment with MEK, xylene, Acetone other approved solvent.
